Šesť veľkých poisťovní plánuje v nasledujúcich piatich rokoch investície v objeme 25 mld. GBP
Britské poisťovne plánujú investovať do energetickej a dopravnej infraštruktúry počas nasledujúcich piatich rokov 25 mld. libier (GBP). Informovalo o tom v stredu britské ministerstvo financií. Iniciatíva doplní sedemročný plán verejných investícií v objeme 100 mld. GBP, ktorý ohlásila vláda v júni. Posilnenie súkromných investícií v infraštruktúre je pre vládu prioritou, keďže motorom nečakaného zotavenia ekonomiky boli tento rok najmä spotrebiteľské výdavky, čo je dlhodobo neudržateľné. Životnosť mnohých britských elektrární v nasledujúcich rokoch končí a investície do rozšírenia kapacít potrebujú aj cesty, železnice a letiská.
Podľa agentúry Reuters sa k investičnému plánu prihlásili poisťovne Legal & General, Prudential, Aviva, Standard Life, Friends Life a dcéra skupiny Lloyds Banking Group Scottish Widows.

UK insurers plan to invest 25 billion pounds in infrastructure
LONDON (Reuters) – British insurers plan to invest 25 billion pounds in transport and energy projects over the next five years, the Treasury said on Wednesday, a day before it presents a half-yearly economic update.
Boosting private-sector infrastructure investment is a priority for Britain’s government, as an unexpected rebound in growth so far this year has been driven mostly by consumer spending, which is unsustainable in the long run.
Many British power stations are due for replacement in the coming years, roads, railways and airports are overcrowded. Deputy finance minister Danny Alexander said the new investment was „a massive vote of confidence in the UK economy“ and would help fund the 100 billion pounds of investment projects over the next seven years that he announced in June.
In addition, one of the six insurers involved, Legal & General (LGEN.L: Quote, Profile, Research), said recent changes to a European Union regulation known as Solvency II made such investment easier.
The other five insurers who have committed to the 25 billion pounds in investment are Prudential (PRU.L: Quote, Profile, Research), Aviva (AV.L: Quote, Profile, Research), Standard Life (SL.L: Quote, Profile, Research), Friends Life and Lloyds Banking Group unit Scottish Widows (LLOY.L: Quote, Profile, Research).
